Cejudo makes a tense face to face with Marlon and the Brazilian says: 'I'm going to get my belt'

The weather got hot once again between Henry Cejudo e Marlon moraes. Protagonists of the main fight of the UFC 238, an event that takes place this Saturday (08), in Chicago (USA), the fighters came face to face at the ceremonial weigh-in and the confrontation almost sparked. The fight is valid for the bantamweight belt (up to 61.2 kg.).

First to go on stage, Marlon had the Brazilian flag wrapped around his right hand and weighed 60.8 kg – almost 500 grams below the division limit. In turn, Cejudo went to the scales with the Olympic Champion medal around his neck and was at the category limit: 61.2 kg.

At the time of the traditional face-off, Marlon raised his fists and fixed his gaze on his rival, while Cejudo approached the Brazilian with an angry expression. UFC president Dana White, who was among the athletes, had to separate the fighters to prevent the fight from starting a day early. Even after walking away and at the beginning of the interview, Moraes continued to stare at his opponent (see the video below).

“I'm very happy to be here representing Brazil, now it's my turn. That's what fighters do and what I'm going to do. My time has come, I’m going to get my belt… Let’s go”, said Marlon.

“This is my dream, as I said before: you can doubt me, but I will be the king and number one pound for pound in the world. This is just the beginning,” replied Cejudo.
