After hospitalizing Sage Northcutt, Cosmo Alexandre asks for a fight against Vitor Belfort

Brazilian Cosmo Alexandre made news after achieving a brutal knockout against former UFC student, Sage Northcutt, by ONE FC, on the 17th. The athlete, after the result, seems to already have a new target in sight. In a recent interview with the website 'BJPenn.com', the kickboxing world champion challenged Vitor belfort, who, in February, retired from retirement and signed a contract with the new organization. The phenomenon has not yet debuted for the company.

“I want big fights now. I would like to 'welcome' Vitor belfort in his debut for ONE Championship. I have three more fights left in my contract, and now I want big fights and big challenges,” said Cosmo.

Alexandre is extremely well known in the world of kickboxing and muay thai. The athlete has already won seven world titles in the sport. For this reason, the Brazilian is not excited about the opportunity to compete for a title with the MMA company.

“I have seven world titles. I've fought against all the big names in Muay Thai and kickboxing. So for now, I just want big names and make a lot of money,” said the fighter.

The last time he competed in an official MMA fight, Belfort suffered a categorical defeat to his compatriot, Lyoto Machida, in May last year, at UFC 224. The clash marked his last commitment to Ultimate, an organization he represented in 26 fights.

Six months after announcing his retirement, the 'Phenomenon' announced that he would return to performing in mixed martial arts. The 42-year-old athlete, who has 41 fights, 26 wins and 14 losses on his record, is now waiting for a new opponent to resume his career.

Cosmo Alexandre, 37, has less experience in MMA than Vitor. In eight fights, however, the fighter was defeated only once, in 2011, when he was playing for Bellator. In his last fight, he defeated, by knockout, former UFC fighter Sage Northcutt in just 26 seconds. After the duel, the North American had to undergo delicate surgery to reconstruct his facial bones.
