Brazilian Sarah Frota will have the chance to recover from the defeat she suffered against her compatriot Livinha Souza in his Ultimate debut, in Fortaleza, in February this year. The UFC confirmed on its official website, last Tuesday (28), the duel between the Brazilian and the Canadian Gillian robertson at UFC 240, on July 27th. Following the announcement, Frota will join Alexandre pantoja, Jussier formiga e Viviane Araujo on the card that takes place in Canada.

Sarah Frota arrived at the UFC with great promise in the new organization. After achieving a record of nine consecutive victories, the strawweight (up to 52,1kg) signed a contract with Ultimate and made her debut against her compatriot Livinha Souza, at UFC Fortaleza, in February. After a balanced three-round duel, Sarah was defeated in a split decision by the judges.
It now remains for the 32-year-old Brazilian to seek recovery when facing a younger opponent who is coming off a victory in the company. Gillian robertson, 24, debuted for Ultimate in 2017, when she defeated the North American emily whitmire by submission in the first round. After the commitment, the Canadian performed three more times, being defeated once and winning two others; the last, in February, in the Czech Republic, against the Venezuelan Veronica macedo.
More Brazilians on the card
With the addition of Frota, UFC 240 will, so far, feature four representatives from Brazil. Among them, two will compete in a fight against each other. Flyweights (up to 56,7kg.) Jussier formiga e Alexandre pantoja will compete in a direct duel between the first and third in the division ranking. The category is going through a moment of instability in Ultimate, with the possibility of being closed if the current champion, Henry Cejudo, win the duel against the Brazilian Marlon moraes for the title of the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg.), vacant by TJ Dillashaw in March after the doping case involving the athlete.
Another Tupiniquim athlete scheduled to travel to Edmonton (Canada) is Viviane Araujo, who made a great impression on fans and UFC management when he debuted with victory in the company for UFC 237, in Rio de Janeiro, on the 11th, after accepting a fight against Talita Bernardo just four days before the event. The Brazilian will face the experienced Alexis Davis, at 34 years old, has 25 professional fights, with 18 wins and seven losses. 'Vivi', in turn, has eight fights, seven wins and only one defeat.
The main fight of UFC 240 will represent a title fight between Max Holloway e Frankie Edgar, for the featherweights (up to 65,7kg.) of the organization.
