The Brazilian Charles of the Bronx gave another beautiful performance for Ultimate. Against a well-known opponent, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) showed his evolution in stand-up fighting and defeated Nik lentz by knockout at UFC Rochester, this Saturday (18). After the new triumph, the athlete confirmed his good phase and recorded the fifth consecutive victory in the organization.

Charles has been showing his quality as a fighter for a long time now. The athlete, who debuted in the UFC in 2010, proved that he is ready to take a better position in the rankings of his category.

This was the third time the two athletes faced each other. On the first occasion, in 2011, Bronx was defeated after being disqualified due to an illegal knee against the North American. The fighters met again in 2015, at UFC Goiânia. This time, the Brazilian defeated his rival in his specialty, the submission.

On Saturday night, many were waiting for Charles' 14th submission in Ultimate. The athlete, however, believed in fighting on his feet and proved superior to his opponent after the knockout.

Currently, at 29 years old, Charles is ranked 15th in the lightweight division and asked the organization for a fight against a top 5 athlete.

The fight

Charles started the fight by throwing some kicks at Nik's legs. The North American responded with high kicks, but the Brazilian managed to absorb them well. After two minutes of fighting, Charles managed to land a good direct shot on his opponent's face. When trying a knee, Lentz tried to take the fight to the ground, but the Brazilian managed to control the situation well. During the fight, Nik's face began to bleed from his left eye and the man from the Bronx began to land more blows in the area. At a disadvantage, the North American took the fight to the ground, a world-renowned specialty of the Brazilian. The 'owner of the house' managed to fight back, but there was no more time.

Confident on his feet, Charles continued using punches and kicks to hit Lentz. Contrary to expectations, Nik took the fight to the ground again and was almost submitted by the Brazilian. At one point, Charles hit his opponent with an illegal kick, which resulted in a brief stoppage of the fight. After being warned, the duel returned to the ground. After the moment, do Bronx managed to get up and exchange punches against his opponent again. After just over two minutes, the Brazilian was rewarded for believing in the stand-up fight. Charles blocked a shot from the American, holding his opponent's leg and connected with a beautiful straight shot, which exploded in Lentz's face.

The Brazilian Davi ramos confirmed his good phase in Ultimate after defeating Austin Hubbard in the first fight of the UFC Rochester main card. In a balanced duel, the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) guaranteed favoritism and beat the 'owner of the house' in a unanimous decision by the judges.

The athletes started the duel trying to find the distance to connect the best blow. Ramos attacked first with a direct punch to the face, which was immediately responded to by the American. The fight was stopped early on after Ramos landed a kick to his opponent's lower parts. After returning, the athletes returned to studying each other and adopted caution in their attacks. Always believing in the straight right, Davi tried the attack several times, which left Austin's face red. The fight was stopped again after Ramos was hit by a finger in the eye. Back in the battle, the Brazilian continued to land good blows on Hubbard's face, who always responded well. In the last minute of the fight, Davi managed a good takedown and tried to finish the fight, however, there was no more time.

In the second round, the Brazilian started attacking his opponent again. With good low kicks, the athlete managed to unbalance the North American a few times. The fight remained tense after the fighters abused dangerous blows, which always went close to the faces. After a feint, Davi managed to get behind Austin's back to again look for a submission, which is his specialty. Hubbard, however, showed experience and managed to free himself from the position. Always moving forward, Davi kept hitting his opponent in an attempt to get another takedown on the North American. With just under two minutes remaining until the end of the stage, the Brazilian managed the takedown, however, the horn sounded signaling the end of the assault.

Losing the fight, Austin should try to get out of the damage in the last stage. The North American then attacked Davi, who began to manage the result. With caution, the Brazilian awaited the opponent's blows and only played on the counterattack. Almost halfway through the fight, Ramos managed to land two good blows on his opponent, which he felt. Shaken, the Brazilian took the fight to the ground again and started throwing several punches at Hubbard's body. After a good moment, the referee requested that the duel be played standing up again. In the end, Davi lost his balance, went to the ground and called his opponent to guard, however, Austin didn't accept it.
