The fight between the light heavyweights (up to 93kg) started in a very tense way. The two athletes trusted their fists and agreed to fight on their feet. After good blows from both sides, halfway through the stage Cummins' face was already injured. With just over a minute remaining, however, Herman scored a great knee after a clinch. The blow was accused by Cummins, who staggered until he fell to the ground. Zak Cummings and Trevin giles they were protagonists of an extremely balanced fight in New York. The athletes showed a lot of respect for each other and, after almost three full rounds, Giles, who seemed more comfortable at the end, was surprised by a solid blow and was subsequently submitted.

The athletes started the fight trying to find the distance and avoiding contact. Cummings, however, took the initiative and attempted a left cross twice in a row, which were dodged by Giles. After unsuccessful blows, Zak managed a good kick to the opponent's abdomen, who didn't land the blow. Despite appearing more aggressive, Cummings began to appear to be an easy victim to his opponent's punches and, at the end of the first stage, he was already bleeding from his right eye.

In the second round, Trevin started taking strategy and trying to target the wound his opponent had on his face. More athletic, Giles moved a lot trying to tire his opponent, who was already attacking less compared to the initial assault. Near the final two minutes, Zak scored a low blow and the duel was temporarily interrupted. Back to the battle, the fight remained balanced with the athletes striking and also trying to counterattack against the attacks. In the end, the athletes went to the clinch on the fence, but there was no more time.

The clash would be resolved in the last round. Athletes, then, should go all or nothing. At one point, Cummings landed a beautiful kick to his opponent's chest, which shook him. Zak then attempted a takedown, but Giles managed to absorb the blow and avoid going to the ground. Two minutes from the end, the fight started to get serious. Giles began to provoke his opponent in the center of the octagon to look for a clear blow. The spell, however, came out against the sorcerer. In a distraction, Trevis ended up surprised by a well-aimed punch from Zak, and collapsed. The opponent then took advantage of the moment and managed a submission against his compatriot.
