The Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos and his opponent this weekend, Kevin Lee, made weight and guaranteed their presence in the main fight of UFC Rochester, this Saturday (18). The athletes stepped onto the scale this Friday morning (17), in New York (USA) and were the protagonists of a very tense confrontation. The other athletes, including Antônio 'Shoe Face’, Davi ramos Vincent Luque e Charles of the Bronx will also represent Brazil on the main card.

The former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) will have a different challenge this weekend. In third place in the welterweight rankings, the Brazilian will have a risky duel against the North American Kevin Lee, who makes his debut in the new category after having played 12 times at lightweight.
Coming off two consecutive defeats, dos Anjos is looking to win again to stay relevant in the division and dream of a fight for the division's belt. His opponent, however, arrives as an underdog and seeks to surprise the experienced fighter in his debut.
If he wins, Kevin will reach the new category with the status of having beaten one of the three best placed welterweights. The Brazilian, then, must devise a good strategy to avoid a new defeat and consequently move away from the division's leading pack.
Brazilians on the card
Average weight (up to 83,9kg.) Antônio'Shoe Face' returns after more than a year without fighting, due to an injury, and seeks his sixth consecutive victory against the North American Ian Heinisch. The athlete currently occupies 12th place in the division ranking and needs to win to remain among the top 15 in the category.
Owner of the record for submissions within Ultimate, Charles of the Bronx returns to the octagon to carry out an interesting fight. The Brazilian faces Nik lentz, against whom he has already fought on two occasions. One, in 2011, when Charles was disqualified after throwing illegal kicks. The second, in 2015, in which the São Paulo native won a victory by submission. 'Do Bronx' is going through a great moment in his career, coming off four consecutive victories.
Davi ramos It's another Brazilian who will enter the Octagon this weekend. The athlete seeks to maintain his good form and record his fourth consecutive victory against the American August Hubbard. The last time Ramos played for Ultimate was in November last year, when he submitted John Gunther at UFC Denver.
Vincent Luque, another Brazilian on the card, made weight and confirmed his presence at the event. The athlete, however, went through a scare at the beginning of the week and almost had his fight cancelled. The fighter was scheduled to face the experienced Nail Magny in the co-main fight of UFC Rochester. Luque's opponent, however, was caught in an anti-doping test and was withdrawn from the fight. In a hurry, Ultimate hired Derrek Krantz for the fight.
Gaffe and tense look
An unusual moment during the weigh-in was due to the Brazilian Michael Pereira. The athlete, who had a tense confrontation with his opponent, Danny Roberts, and had to be contained by the organization, was the protagonist of a comical moment.
When he was weighing himself, the athlete didn't know that he should stand still to be able to measure his exact weight. The fighter then posed on the scale while those responsible for weighing asked him to remain still. As he doesn't speak English, the Brazilian took a while to understand the signs of those present.
