Recently retired from MMA, Ross Pearson decided to venture into a career as a boxer. The athlete made his debut in the 'noble art' against Australian Salar King and emerged victorious in the duel that took place last Wednesday (15). As a mixed martial arts athlete, powerful punches have always been the fighter's main characteristic.

The fight was decided in the second round, when Ross applied several blows to his opponent, taking him to the ground and forcing the referee to open the count. After almost 10 seconds, the rival stated that he was no longer able to continue. Pearson was then announced as the winner.
Ross' debut opponent does not have a favorable record. In 16 fights, Australian Salar King emerged victorious in just five. The fact, however, did not bother the former UFC fighter, who commented on the result after the fight in an interview with the website 'Sportingnew'.
“I can fight anyone. I have all the moves and durability. Now, it’s about learning the sport; the combinations, the patterns and the rhythm of the fights,” Ross said.
The fighter's experience as a former MMA athlete will serve as experience to face his next opponents. The sport is totally different, but the amount of fights can influence the results.
“After fighting in the UFC for many years, I fear no man. This will not be a one-time appearance like that of Conor McGregor,” said Pearson. “I intend to conquer the sport by destroying anyone who enters the ring with me”, concluded the athlete.
At 34 years old, Ross had his last fight for Ultimate in March of this year, when he was defeated by knockout in a duel against Desmond Green. Champion of edition number nine of TUF (The Ultimate Fighter), in 2009, the athlete was not going through a good phase in the company. In his last 10 MMA fights, Pearson won only three times, losing in the rest.
