Max Holloway defends featherweight belt against Frankie Edgar at UFC 240

With José Aldo out of contention, Ultimate schedules the champion's return against the third-placed player in the featherweight rankings

With José Aldo away from the title fight, Ultimate scheduled the new title defense Max Holloway. The featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg.) puts his reign on the line against Frankie Edgar. The clash will be on the UFC 240 card, an event that takes place on July 27, in Edmonton, Canada.

This is the third time that the UFC has tried to schedule a confrontation between Holloway and Edgar. In the previous two, the dispute was canceled because of injuries.

Back in the featherweight division, after an unsuccessful attempt to win the lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg.), Holloway has a professional record of 20 wins and four losses. The 'Blessed', as he is known, will make his third belt defense. However, he came from a setback in his last fight, in the top category, when he lost to Dustin poirier No. UFC 236, held in April.

In turn, Edgar has a record of 23 wins, six losses and one fight. The third-ranked North American in the featherweight rankings is coming off a triumph in his last fight, in April 2018. He beat Cub swanson in the unanimous decision of the judges.
