Jessica: 'My biggest dream now is to help the people on my team'

Jessica Andrade there was just joy at the press conference after the UFC 237. In the early hours of Sunday (12), the Brazilian revealed that she wants to help her training companions to perform for Ultimate. For the athlete, there are many talents with the potential to join the company's group of fighters.

“My dream now is just to help the fighters at my gym get into the UFC. There are a lot of fighters there who could be fighting here”, said the new strawweight champion.

When asked about the joy of, in addition to winning the belt, receiving the 'Performance of the Night' and 'Fight of the Night' bonuses, Jéssica recalled difficult episodes in her life before becoming champion.

“I already had to sell my training equipment to support myself. The other day, I saw an interview with me talking about my dreams for the future. I replied that it meant having a 'box' bed and a television so I could watch fights”, confessed 'Bate-Estaca. “Today, I have a beautiful house, a car and a bunch of dogs. Today I have a wonderful financial life”, explained the fighter.

In addition to the belt and purse for the title fight, 'Bate-Estaca' will take home around R$380 for the extra bonus from the UFC.

Regarding the future, the athlete confessed that she would like to give Rose a rematch, but if the former champion chooses to interrupt her career, her opponent could be the controversial one. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, to whom Jéssica lost in 2017, who, shortly after the result of the title fight, made a point of making a post on a social network provoking the Brazilian.

“It’s like Joanna to do this kind of thing. I already knew she was going to do it. If she faces me, she will find a different fighter than the one she beat. I will dedicate myself a lot to my kickboxing preparation to be able to face her”, said the athlete, who received a lot of applause as she left the press conference.
