Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones They are considered two of the biggest names in MMA history. The athletes fought epic duels and became rivals inside and outside the octagon.

The first time they faced each other, Jones defended his light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) against his compatriot in 2015. In the fight, 'Bones' demonstrated to the public why he is considered by many to be the greatest fighter in history. Cormier, who has always been respected for also being a great fighter, was dominated by Jones during most of the fight, which was decided by the judges.

Shortly afterwards, Jones was caught in an anti-doping test, which revealed that the fighter had ingested cocaine. The athlete was suspended and Cormier 'inherited' the category's vacant belt after a dispute against Anthony Johnson.

In 2017, Jones had returned to MMA and beat DC again. This time, the North American managed a beautiful knockout over his opponent, sending the audience into a frenzy. The result, however, was later changed, as Jones tested positive again in an anti-doping test carried out after the battle. After that, 'Bones' was suspended from MMA again and Cormier ended up regaining the division title.

Jones, after a new return, appears as light heavyweight champion, while Cormier, who gave up the belt in the category, ventured into the heavyweight division and managed to conquer the number one position. 'Bones' has already revealed his desire to follow in his rival's footsteps and move up a category.

DC, however, has signaled he may retire soon. The fight between the two idols, then, may not be far from happening. Cormier has a duel scheduled against the former heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic, In August. After the rematch, Daniel can once again have his reunion with his eternal enemy.

“If you want to be competitive, you have to come back and fight for what you lost. I'm very competitive. So I say: 'if there is another fight (after Miocic), it would have to be this one!”, concluded the heavyweight champion.
