“The division needs me. I'm going back to the fights and the victories. The category was more fun when I was there. I think the division needs the return of Bethe Correia and winning this fight. I will always be a strong name to fight for the belt. People are begging me to come back”, commented the fighter.
Regarding her next clash, the Brazilian was happy with her chosen opponent and even praised the Mexican Irene aldana, your next opponent.
“I'm very happy to face Irene. If they're scheduling this fight for the third time, it's because it has to happen. I watched some of her fights. It was supposed to be against me. She's tough. She has the Mexican spirit. I think it’s going to be a great fight,” said Bethe.
The reason for Correia's removal was also an issue. The fighter underwent emergency surgery on her left eye in October 2017. Since then, the Brazilian has been away from UFC cards.
“The way things happened were really frustrating for me. Fights being canceled are normal in sport. That happens. But the situation we are going through, the misinformation; people thought I was hiding something from the UFC. But it's over. I'm more mature now. Everything that happened made me stronger,”
If she wins her fight, Bethe will end a bitter sequence of negative results in her career. The Brazilian has won just one victory in her last five fights. Her last triumph came in November 2016, when she beat the North American Jessica Eye in divided division of judges.
At 35 years old, 'Pitbull' will enter the octagon of UFC 237 in the first fight of the preliminary card.
