Thiago Minu makes the main fight of X-Fest MMA
Lightweight Thiago “Minu” Meller will have the full support of his countrymen for his first commitment of the year. After two consecutive defeats, the gaucho seeks rehabilitation against Argentine Gabriel Soule in the main attraction of X-Fest MMA, which takes place this Saturday (14) at the Sociedade Hebraica gym, in Porto Alegre (RS).
Without winning since November 2010, “Minu” comes to this clash pressured for a positive result. Initially scheduled to face Emiliano “Cobra” Vatti, the fighter saw his opponent cancel his participation in the event due to family problems. In his last fight, the Combat Rider/MFT athlete was defeated by Finn Anton Kuivanen, currently in the UFC, in Cage 16 – 1st Defense by unanimous decision of the judges.
“The expectation of fighting in Porto Alegre is the best possible. Fighting in front of friends and family will be really cool, with everyone supporting you. I count on the support of all Brazilians”, stated Minu.
In turn, Soule was hastily called up to replace his compatriot in the main fight of the night. With a modest record of one win and two losses, the Argentine will hold his second fight on yellow-green soil. In June last year, the Argentine was knocked out by the Brazilian Christiano “Psicopata” in the second round of the WFC Pretorian match, held in the city of Pelotas (RS).
In addition to the Brazil and Argentina clash, the event schedule also features 11 other fights. Featured for
the fight for the middleweight belt of the Associação Gaúcha de Artes Martiais (AGAM) between Douglas Del Rio and Gustavo “Porco” Drugg.
