TJ Dillashaw accepts two-year suspension from USADA

Caught in an anti-doping test at UFC Brooklyn in January, the former bantamweight champion will only be able to compete again in January 2021

TJ Dillashaw is out of the octagon until January 2021. The American, who confessed to having fallen into doping in his fight against Henry Cejudo, at UFC Brooklyn, in January this year, received a two-year suspension. The announcement of the hook was made by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) on Tuesday afternoon (09).

A two-year suspension is the maximum penalty for athletes who fail the test for the first time. The fighter did not contest the decision. He even gave up the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg) in March.

Dillashaw was caught testing for using EPO, a synthetic hormone used to increase the number of red blood cells in the blood.

The now former champion's suspension began on the date the sample was collected, meaning the 33-year-old will be eligible to fight again on January 18, 2021.
