José Aldo is hospitalized with a bacterial infection and could be cut from UFC 237

O UFC 237, an event that takes place on May 11th, in Rio de Janeiro, could suffer a huge loss. José Aldo, who is scheduled for the second most important fight on the show, contracted a bacterial infection and is at risk of being removed from the fight against Alexander Volkanovsky. The information was released by the Combate channel website and confirmed by the report.

The infection was contracted after Aldo suffered a cut during training. He was admitted to Hospital Samaritano on Wednesday (20) with a high fever.

The fighter only reacted to treatment this Thursday (21) after 24 years of hospitalization. He has been fever-free since then.

Despite the improvement, it is still not certain that José Aldo be the card UFC 237. The fighter will need to undergo a battery of tests to ensure that he is fully cured.
