MMA fans were able to miss Shooto Brasil on Friday night. The first edition of the year had plenty of excitement. In the main fight of the night, Edilceu Para-Raio won Daniel Miojo and won the super-flyweight belt (up to 59kg) at the event. The night also featured the return of ex-UFC Adriano Martins in Brazilian territory. The man from Manaus faced Adriano Rodrigues and the fight ended in a No Contest (No Result) after Martins suffered a poke in the eye.

The main fight of Shooto Brasil 90 brought two athletes face to face at different points in their careers. While Daniel Miojo, at 22 years old, had an unbeaten record of seven fights in his career, Edilceu Para-Raio, 36, was making his debut at Shooto Brasil, but with an extensive career for Brazil. And the duel surprised by not lasting more than 40 seconds. After an initial exchange of blows, Miojo appeared to dislocate his shoulder and Para-Raio only threw a series of punches to finish the fight and win the super flyweight belt.

The co-main fight of the night marked Adriano Martins' return to Brazil after many years living in the USA and working in the UFC. He faced his namesake Adriano Rodrigues, who surprised and dominated the center of the cage in the opening two rounds. At the end of the second round, Rodrigues involuntarily punched Martins in the eye and he fell to the ground. After a long wait, the doctor declared an end to the duel, declaring it a No Contest.

Show of knockouts and submissions mark initial fights

One of the most celebrated knockouts of the night was that of Diego Domingos over Pedro Finger. With a beautiful cross to the belt, the fighter had the crowd celebrating. Another one who raised the public's spirits was Vandirson Negão, Pedro Rizzo's pupil. He beat Claudio Rocha by knockout in the third round after a beautiful sequence of punches. Lucas Hodak and Guilherme Prevendo also fought a real war, with the advantage going to Lucas, who won by knockout in the last second of the second round. Gabriel Cruz and Wildermar Besouro had a busy fight, with Besouro winning by split decision.

The duel between Marcos Silva and Mohammed King Lamo was also one of the busiest of the night. After three rounds of a lot of striking, it was better for the African native based in Brazil. The initial knockout of Shooto Brasil 90 came from Romário Garcia, who gave Claudio Coutinho no chance and won less than a minute into the fight. In the first two duels of the night, there were two precise finishes. While Felipe Pereira didn't need more than two minutes to lock in a rear naked choke on Tarcizio Pedra, Andressa Romero had no problem dispatching Thaiane Souza with an American.
