cody garbrandt will face Peter Munhoz on the main card of UFC 235, this Saturday, in Las Vegas. 'No Love' comes from two knockout defeats to the category champion, TJ Dillashaw. “He represents a great challenge and a great battle for me, so I have enormous respect for him, but Pedro has never faced a guy like me. He's a good guy, but in the octagon things change. I have respect for him, for his academy, the American Top Team, where he has great coaches, but Pedro will just be a stopover on my way back to the top”, said Cody in an interview with the Combate channel website.
When reflecting on the losses to Dillashaw, Garbrandt said he learned a lot from them and that's why he became a new fighter. The former champion plans to end the trilogy with TJ and avenge his defeats.
“Thinking about the fights against TJ, I want to fight him again, I'm a new fighter after those fights, I learned a lot from each one of them, but now I have a very tough opponent in front of me, Peter Munhoz, one of the best in the category and who wants to surpass me to reach the top”, concluded 'No Love'.
Garbrand hasn't won since December 2016 at UFC 207, when he overcame Dominick Cruz and won the bantamweight belt. In his first title defense, 'No Love' was knocked out by Dillashaw in the second round. At 27 years old, Cody has 13 fights in his career with 11 triumphs and two setbacks.
