Dana White said he would like to be able to book some fights for 'Bones' in 2019, but that depends on the light heavyweight champion staying out of trouble and in the gym.

Jon Jones He once again put on a show in the octagon and showed why he is considered one of the best athletes in MMA history by knocking out Alexander Gustafson in the main fight of UFC 232, on Saturday (29). However, the controversies outside the cage had a negative influence on the fighter's legacy in the sport. With this in mind during the press conference, Ultimate's president, Dana White, was thoughtful when talking about the athlete's next steps in the organization.

The commander of the MMA franchise recalled during his conversation with journalists that Jones' doping case was the reason UFC 232 was moved from Las Vegas to Inglewood in less than a week. White assured that for 'Bones' to continue fighting in the UFC he needs to stay clean and out of trouble.

“The big question surrounding Jones is this: he came for this fight, the fight had to happen, he didn't test positive for PED (High Performance Substance), we've been talking about this shit all last week and we know it. But now what has to happen is: Jon Jones You have to pass the California State Athletic Commission test, off the top of my head I don't know if they also test for recreational drugs, what the scheme is. But Jones needs to stay clean, stay out of trouble, stay in the gym. I’d love to keep him busy this year,” White explained.

Jokingly, Dana stated that he would 'kill' Jones if he tested positive again on the drug test. However, the commander highlighted that Jon needs to undergo tests during UFC 232 that are more rigorous than the others carried out before the competitions.

“There will be doping tests at the time of the fight too, probably today. So he has to pass these tests too. The difference is that when you're competing, they usually test you on recreational drugs too: marijuana, cocaine, that kind of thing. The future of Jon Jones It depends on the results of different doping tests, he needs to keep passing the tests, stay clean, focused on training, to be able to turn his life around. I'm going to kill myself (if he doesn't pass the UFC 232 doping test)…. If he can get his personal life right, who knows what he could achieve? Nobody knows what he would be capable of doing”, concluded Dana.
