Ultimate announces cancellation of UFC 233

Ultimate announced the cancellation of UFC 233, which was scheduled for January 26th in Anaheim (USA) this Wednesday (12). The suspension of the event is due to the loss of big names such as TJ Dillashaw, Henry Cejudo, José Aldo, Cub swanson e Dominick Cruz. The fights that were confirmed for the date will be relocated to other shows in the franchise.

In an official statement, Ultimate lists the event as 'postponed', but the show still has no set date for it to take place. The confirmed pay per view show for the sequel is UFC 234 on February 9th in Australia. Even so, the organization must continue with the plan to hold 12 pay per view events in 2019.

Initially, UFC 233 would have as its main fight the meeting between the champions Henry Cejudo e TJ Dillashaw by the fly belt. However, the superfight was moved to UFC Brooklyn on January 19th. Ultimate also had the loss of the rematch between José Aldo e Cub swanson. The fighters had agreed on the date of the meeting.
