Many hypotheses have been raised about who will be the UFC lightweight champion's challenger, Khabib Nurmagomedov. In his latest episode of the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast, Ultimate President Dana White banged the hammer and stated that Conor McGregor will be the next challenger for the title.
In White's opinion, it is the fight that must be made, in addition to being the biggest and most profitable option for the organization. The interest in the clash comes from the rivalry between the fighters. The last episode was when McGregor attacked the bus transporting Khabib and the UFC 223 fighters. Due to the confusion, the Irishman has a complicated legal situation.

Dana explained that to carry out the fight between the athletes, McGregor has to resolve his situation regarding the accusations on June 15th in New York. “This is the fight to be had. But there’s no fighting to be done until we find out what happens to Conor,” said White.
The UFC president said that the clash between Khabib Nurmagomedov e Conor McGregor will not happen at UFC Russia on September 15th. “Khabib is not going to fight [in Russia]; The fight in Moscow will be a fight night. It will be on Fight Pass. We're just testing everything to see how it's going. It’s a place we’ve been trying to get into for a long time and we’re doing it,” he explained.
In opposition to Dana White's desire, Nurmagomedov wants to face the Canadian fighter, Georges St Pierre.
