In a fight between national MMA legends, Lyoto Machida ended his career Vitor belfort in a striking way. Dragão knocked out Fenômeno with a beautiful front kick, a blow that was reminiscent of the historic knockout of Anderson Silva about Belfort. The duel was an attraction on the main card of UFC 224 – also called UFC Rio 9 – held this Saturday (12), in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
The first round of the fight between Lyoto and Belfort involved a lot of study, with neither athlete wanting to leave room for their rival's counterattack. However, in the second round, Machida took advantage of Vitor's carelessness, released the front stomp, which leaked Belfort's guard and landed squarely in the chin. He was already knocked out. In a remarkable moment, Lyoto knelt in front of his fainted rival as a sign of respect.
