Vitor Belfort is confirmed to return the UFC to Brazil

The next edition of UFC Rio will only take place in January 2012, but the event card is already gaining its stars. After Jose aldo be confirmed in the main fight of the show, defending the featherweight belt against Chad Mendes, another great Brazilian idol is confirmed on the fight program.

Former UFC champion Vitor belfort faces the North American Anthony Johnson at the event scheduled to take place on January 14th, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Although the location has not yet been confirmed, UFC 142, the first of 2012, should be held at the HSBC Arena.

Vitor belfort has a professional record of 20 wins and nine losses. The athlete from Rio, who is trying to get a new chance at fighting for the middleweight belt, is coming off a triumph in the organization: when he knocked out Japanese Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 133, held in August. In turn, Johnson, who has a record of 10 wins and three losses, also had a good result in his last appearance. Anthony knocked out Charlie Brenneman at UFC on Versus 6, held in October.
