Kickboxing legend Gokhan Saki is injured and leaves the UFC 219 card

The UFC 219 card, scheduled for December 30th, in Las Vegas (USA), suffered an important loss. Light heavyweight Gokhan Saki, kickboxing legend, suffered a knee injury and is out of his duel against Kahlil Rountree Jr, which would mark his second appearance in the organization. To his place was called the Polish Michal Oleksiejczuk, who will make his debut at the house.

Former Glory champion and considered one of the main hopes for renewal in the UFC light heavyweight category, Saki has only two professional MMA fights. Before beating Henrique Frankenstein by knockout at UFC Japan, last September, he had ventured into the sport in the distant year of 2004, when he was knocked out by former UFC fighter James Zikic. In kickboxing, however, the Turk's record is worthy of respect: he has 83 wins, 12 losses and one fight without result.

training partner Anderson Silva, Rountree became known for having knocked out 'Spider' during a sparring session. Finalist of TUF 23, he has four fights in the UFC, with a 50% success rate. His most recent performance was in July this year, when he knocked out Paul Craig at UFC Scotland. In total, there are six triumphs and two setbacks in the cartel.

UFC 219 will be led by the duel between the champion Chris Cyborg e Holly holm, valid for the women's featherweight belt. Three other Brazilians are also confirmed on the show. Light weight Edson Barboza faces Khabib Nurmagomedov, bantamweight John Lineker faces Jimmie rivera and flyweight Matheus Nicolau returns after more than a year without fighting to measure forces with Louis Smolka.
