After Patrick Cummins announced that he was out of the light heavyweight duel against Corey anderson at UFC 217, which will take place on November 4th in New York, the organization acted quickly and defined a replacement. St. Preux comes from two straight victories. Before submitting Okami, he had beaten the Brazilian Marcos Foot, also by completion. The results served as a recovery for OVS, which had come from three consecutive defeats, including a setback against Jon Jones in the fight for the interim light heavyweight belt at UFC 197, in April 2016. In Ultimate since 2013, he has already competed in 14 duels in the organization, totaling nine positive results and five negative results.

Anderson, in turn, is coming off a tough setback against Jimi Manuwa in March this year, three months after knocking out Sean O'Connell. TUF 19 champion in 2014, he has six wins and three losses in the UFC.
