“I hope he can last five rounds, I hope he can last the power and the speed. I want him to last five rounds so I can show everyone (that I'm better). But if he can't take it, I'll submit him in the first round, I'll take my interim belt and defend my title in Detroit (at UFC 218). But I don't think that will happen. Tony is a tough guy, who can take a lot of blows, let's see how it goes”, declared the fighter during an interview with journalists.

In addition to the dispute between Kevin Lee e Tony Ferguson, the show will also feature another title fight: the flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson puts his legacy on the line against challenger Ray Borg. Four Brazilians are also confirmed on the card: Fabricio Werdum faces Derrick Lewis, Thales leites measure forces with Brad Tavares and the rookies Poliana Botelho and Kalindra Faria face Pearl Gonzalez and Mara Romero Borellarespectively.
