Ponzinibbio uses social media to challenge former interim UFC champion

the argentine Santiago Ponzinibbio Against Gunnar Nelson at UFC Scotland last month, he extended his winning streak to five with a sensational knockout of the Icelander. The triumph placed him in ninth place in the welterweight rankings and “Gente Boa” wants to face Carlos Condit, former interim champion of the category, to get closer to a title shot.

Through his official Instagram, Ponzinibbio formally challenged Condit, who hasn't fought since August 2016, when he was submitted in the first round by Demian Maia. In Portuguese, Spanish and English, the Argentine asked for a chance against the North American, guaranteeing that the two can have one of the most exciting fights in the history of the division. He used a montage with a photo of him and another of Condit.

“I believe we have all the potential to put on one of the most exciting fights in UFC welterweight history. Who wants to see me fight with Carlos Condit? I'm ready!”, challenged Ponzinibbio, “marking” Dana White, president of the UFC, and Sean Shelby, responsible for the organization's fight matchmaking, as well as Condit himself, currently in fifth place at welterweight.

Before knocking out Nelson in the main fight of UFC Scotland, Ponzinibbio had already decisively defeated four other opponents: Andreas Stahl, Court mcgee, Zak Cummings and Nordine Taleb. The first two were also knocked out, while Stahl and McGee lost by decision. The Argentine's last setback was against Lorenz Larkin, in June 2015.
