Without fighting since February 2016, Rafael Feijão is close to resuming his MMA career. Fired from the UFC at the beginning of last year, the Brazilian light heavyweight signed a contract with Bellator and will make his debut for the new organization on July 1st, at WFT 7 Road to Bellator, which will be held in the Canary Islands. His opponent will be Englishman Dan Konecke.

Former champion of the now defunct Strikeforce, Feijão arrived at the UFC full of expectations, but the results in the biggest octagon in the world were disappointing. In five fights in the company, he won just one, against Igor Pokrajac, and lost four, to Thiago Pitbull, Ryan bader, Patrick Cummins and Ovince St Preux.

Konecke, in turn, is unknown to the general public. With a negative record, he has seven triumphs and ten setbacks as a professional. His last appearance was last May, when he was submitted by Stav Economou on the preliminary card of Bellator 179.
