“We are always learning, every day we learn new things. My last two fights showed that, and this fight will be decisive in showing that now I'm really established. I learned how to train, I learned how to fight, how to handle things. I was experienced in jiu-jitsu, but I didn't have much experience in MMA. All the experiences I had were in the UFC, I'm a UFC fan. I only had three fights outside of Ultimate. And it's not easy here, the best fighters are here. (…) So I needed this time of experience, but now I am established and ready to reach my goal, which is the belt”, declared Sapato, in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS.

If you emerge victorious next Saturday, Shoe Face will achieve the third consecutive victory in the organization. Confident, he aims to take action twice more in 2017 and face someone from the elite of the category, such as, for example, the former middleweight champion Chris Weidman.

“I really want to have two more fights this year. I think that fighting and keeping the pace is very important, and without a doubt I want to catch someone in the head. Suddenly the winner of Derek Brunson and Dan Kelly or (the winner) of Chris Weidman and (Kelvin) Gastelum). They are tough names, but there are also so many tough people outside the rankings that people don't know, they just have a hard time. So it's better that it's a name close to my objective, that it's close to the 'heads' and the belt. I will be willing (to fight) because I know I have the ability to beat anyone and be champion of this category”, said Sapato, who concluded by celebrating the fact of being able to fight again in Brazil after two and a half years.

“It’s really good (to return to fight in Brazil). It's an added incentive to have the fans on your side. I will be counting on my family, my friends, everyone will watch the fight, so this just makes me even happier and with the desire to do a good job and come away with victory”, said the Brazilian.
