Englishman Jimi Manuwa is coming off incredible performances against Corey anderson e Ovince St Preux. After discussing publicly and through social media with the current champion, Daniel Cormier, Manuwa put himself in a good position to get a title shot, but the return of Jon Jones ended his plans to challenge DC at UFC 214. However, with Cormier x Jones scheduled for the event, the Englishman asked to fight on the same day and will face the dangerous Oezdemir, number five in the rankings.

With just two fights in the UFC, the Swiss surprised both times he entered the octagon, first getting a decision against St. Preux and then knocking out Cirkunov in less than a minute. Both are top-10 in the category, and the victories elevated Oezdemir to number five in the world at 93 kg.

In addition to the two light heavyweight duels, one of which is valid for the category belt, UFC 214, which will be held in Anaheim, California, also features the return of Renan Barao to bantamweight against aljamain sterling, plus Doo Ho Choi x André Fili, Renato Moicano x Brian ortega and Ricardo Lamas x Chan sung jung, in three excellent featherweight fights.
