This will be Ponzinibbio's first main event in the organization. At 30 years old, the Argentinian Gente Boa is going through a great phase, with four consecutive victories, the most recent over Nordine Taleb at UFC Halifax, in February this year. In Ultimate, there have already been eight fights, with six victories – three by knockout – and two defeats. He was a finalist in TUF Brasil 2, but was prevented from fighting in the final of the program after getting injured.
Nelson is also going through a good moment, having won his last two fights by submission, over Albert Tumenov and Alan Jouban. In the UFC since 2012, Gunni, 28 years old, has seven positive results and two negative results. His last defeat was in December 2015, when he was canceled by Demian Maia at UFC 194.
