The recent refusals of Nate diaz returning to fight has not pleased Dana White, president of the UFC. Asked about what he thinks about the lightweight position, the manager did not hide his dissatisfaction and questioned Nate's real importance in the fight market, going so far as to insinuate, in other words, that the fighter only became in the spotlight in recent months for because of his last opponent, the Irish Conor McGregor.

“Whatever the deal, he will get a good deal. I mean, after all, what is Diaz worth without Conor McGregor? I don't know. The kid's not in a pay-per-view position or that kind of thing. But this (fight with Ferguson) could put him in that position. If he fought with Tony Ferguson, it could be for the interim belt”, said the president, in an interview with 'Yahoo'.

Without fighting since August 2016, Diaz gave indications that it is unlikely he will step into the Octagon before 2018. For Dana, the fighter should review his concepts and focus on a possible title fight.

“Obviously, if you get the interim belt, you're going to get a piece of the pay-per-view. Diaz has to put himself in a position to make money on pay-per-view,” he added.
