Daniel Cormier returns to the octagon next Saturday (08), in Buffalo (USA), to face Anthony Johnson, in a duel valid for the light heavyweight belt. However, even though it is the week of an important fight, the matter 'Jon Jones' never stops circling the current 93kg champion. Asked about the suspension of 'Bones', punished within a year after being caught in an anti-doping test, DC was harsh in his criticism and criticized his rival again.

“He got a year suspension from USADA, right? There is an error in the interpretation of this penalty, that USADA believed his excuses. They didn't believe it. Jon Jnes received the maximum sentence for what he did! His defense proved nothing. Sentencing him to the maximum sentence, for me, shows that he is a cheat. They did not accept the claim that he took a sexual stimulant. If they had accepted this justification, he would not have received the maximum sentence”, he declared, in an interview with the podcast '5ive Rounds' (USA), and then sent a direct message to his opponent.

"You cheated. You hit someone's car and fled. You know what you did. If the whole world wants to ignore the facts, that's fine. But I won’t,” she snapped.

Despite the criticism, Cormier changed his tone when asked if Jones could return to the octagon as the next challenger to the division champion. Sincerely, he praised Jon's technical qualities, but highlighted, once again, that he does not forget the history of controversies surrounding the fighter. Furthermore, he also contradicted Johnson's statements, who said that the former champion will always be around this dispute, “regardless of what happened”.

PUBLICITY:

“We already expect Jones to be the next challenger, but there is a problem with Anthony’s response. We have to stop saying “regardless of what happened”. We know what happened, we know exactly what he did. So when we say this, it seems like we don't want to face the facts. It's almost as if we swept the subject under the rug. We know the mistakes he made, that he tried to cheat. It bothers me when people ask me about a guy who, three days before we fought, got caught on doping. That's what irritates me, not the fact that he's a good fighter. He’s a great fighter,” he concluded.
