Former champion Cruz provokes Cody Garbrandt: 'Only talking about me'

Since losing his title to cody garbrandt, Dominick Cruz He stayed out of the spotlight, just observing the new champion's posture. And, according to him, the fact that his tormentor only talks about a rematch, proves that he, Cruz, is the true big name in the bantamweight division.

“He only talks about me, he just wants to know about the rematch. You're on top, why does he talk about me so much? He does this because he knows I'm the guy who raises the level of the division. He knows I’m better than him”, commented Cruz, in an interview with the North American channel “TMZ”.

Cruz was also irritated by Garbrandt's speech after the fight. The new champion said he only didn't knock out his rival because he was having too much fun and wanted the fight to last longer.

“If you're in there to fight me, then fight me. Don't walk backwards all the time and dance. He’s trying to portray himself as this tough guy who could control the timing of the fight,” he concluded.

Cruz and Garbrandt faced each other in the second most important fight of UFC 207. It was their first defeat. Dominick Cruz since 2007, when he had lost to Urijah faber, mentor of the new champion.
