American Travis Browne fractured one of his fingers during the fight with Fabricio Werdum, in September, but ended up having time to recover, which was heavily criticized by the Brazilian. Recently, the heavyweight admitted the help of referee Gary Copeland, responsible for stopping the fight momentarily, instead of declaring Werdum the winner (Vai Cavalo's victory only came in the decision).

“Breaking my finger was the strangest feeling I’ve ever had in a fight. I looked down and saw a bone sticking out of my hand. When that happens, and there's a guy on the other side trying to take your head off, you don't know what to do. I really gained some time to recover that I wasn't supposed to receive. I don’t know what to say”, commented Browne, in an interview with the website of the North American channel ESPN.

The setback for Werdum was the second in a row for his boyfriend. Ronda Rousey, who had also lost to Cain Velásquez at UFC 200. He will have another opportunity for Ultimate at UFC 208, when he faces Derrick Lewis.
