Anthony Pettis announced immediately after the defeat to Max Holloway, at UFC 206, who will return to lightweight for his next fight. The North American suffered from the weight cut for featherweight and was unable to reach the category limit for the main fight of last Saturday's event (10).
“The cut is very severe for me, I was dying trying to make weight. They (trainers) literally had to drag my body out of the sauna. I took a lot out of my body. It’s a lot of weight to cut,” admitted Pettis, who leaves the featherweight division with a victory (against charles do brox) and the defeat to Holloway.
Former lightweight champion, “Showtime” also revealed that he broke his right hand in the first punch he threw at the now interim featherweight champion. It was the first time he lost by knockout in his career.
