Former Brazilian national team player will make kickboxing debut

Former full-back Zé Maria, who has played for the Brazilian national team, appears to have found a new career in sports. Retired from football since 2008, this Friday (9), he will make his kickboxing debut, against Greek Lampros Choutos, also a former player, in a duel valid for Enfusion 45, in Abu Dhabi.

Zé Maria, 43 years old, participated at the end of last year in a reality show at the event, which brought together sports celebrities who had never fought kickboxing. The Brazilian reached the final to face Choutos, with whom he played at Inter Milan.

In addition to the Italian team, Zé Maria played for Flamengo, Portuguesa, Palmeiras, Vasco and Cruzeiro, among others. With the Brazilian team, he was champion of the Copa América and the Confederations Cup in 1997, and also won the bronze medal at the Atlanta Olympics with the Olympic team.
