Ultimate announced this Tuesday (06) the main fight of UFC on Fox 23, which will take place in Denver (USA), on January 28th. This is a bantamweight duel between Valentina Shevchenko e Julianna Pena, 2nd and 3rd in the category ranking, respectively. The winner of the confrontation should receive the chance to compete for the category belt.
Shevchenko, 28 years old, achieved an important victory in her last appearance, when she defeated the former champion Holly holm at UFC Chicago, in July this year. She had two more fights in the organization: defeat to Amanda nunes victory over Sarah Kaufman. In total, Valentina has a record with 13 positive results and two negative results.
TUF 18 champion, Peña is also coming off a victory: she beat Cat Zíngaro at UFC 200, also in July. The Venezuelan still doesn't know what it's like to lose in Ultimate, having won her four fights. At 27 years old, she has ten fights as a professional, with eight triumphs and two setbacks.
The duel between the middleweights Hector Lombard e Brad Tavares is also confirmed for the UFC on Fox 23 card.
