Conor McGregor has not yet commented on the UFC's controversial decision to strip him of the featherweight belt, automatically confirming José Aldo as the new linear champion of the category. However, it seems that the Irishman's concern lies outside of MMA.

According to California Athletic Commission executive Andy Foster, Conor is now licensed to box in the state of California. “He got his license today and his federal identification. He's a boxer now. We are happy to license it,” revealed Foster.
According to the website 'FloCombat' (USA), “The Notorious” also has plans to obtain release to fight in other North American states, although he has not yet clarified which ones.
McGregor's desire to fight under boxing rules is no secret to anyone. He has even been exchanging barbs with Floyd Mayweather, the legendary boxer who retired in September 2015, but who has already declared that he would return to the ring to face the Irishman. However, it is worth noting that McGregor's contract with the UFC may prevent him from working for another organization or sport.
