At the time, “Pitbull” was more than 3kg over the lightweight category limit (up to 70kg), and was also suspended 20% of his purse, which was allocated to his opponent. This was the second measure taken by the New York Commission. Before, the welterweight Kelvin Gastelum He received a six-month suspension for also failing to take the scales and not even showing up to weigh in.

Despite the problems with the scale, Thiago Pitbull, 33 years old, assured that he intends to continue fighting at lightweight. Former challenger in the welterweight category, he has 13 wins and eight losses in Ultimate.
