The press conference held this Thursday (10) to promote UFC 205, which will take place next Saturday (12), in New York, was marked by yet another controversy involving Conor McGregor. Late, McGregor did not show up at the scheduled time and the question session began without the Irishman present, a fact that angered Eddie Alvarez, who left the press conference and warned that he would only return when his rival appeared. Without the protagonists of the show, just Dana White, president of the UFC, and the fighters Tyron woodley, Stephen Thompson, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewic were present.

First to be questioned, Eddie Alvarez paid no attention to the boos from the Irish fans present at the venue and promised to dispatch McGregor next Saturday and questioned his rival's absence.

“Hey, where’s my opponent? Where is he? Honestly, I'm half Irish. So I'm disappointed for the Irish at the moment for their representative. Where is he? I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't even have an opponent. You know what, when he comes you can call me”, shouted Alvarez, immediately leaving the room.

After a few minutes, McGregor appeared and, as usual, stole the show: he went on stage dancing and “stole” Eddie Alvarez's belt, placing the object next to his own, on his table. However, Alvarez returned to the stage afterwards, resumed the belt and provoked the featherweight champion, causing a huge mess on stage, which had to be broken up by Dana White and a security guard who was present at the scene.

In the first question, Conor mocked the delay and assured that, without him, the event would 'sink'.

“Sorry for the delay, but I don't care. I don't give a fuck what Eddie says. The Irish are back, we're taking control of New York. Without me, this whole sh*t sinks”, said “The Notorious”.

UFC 205 will be held this Saturday (12) and will start at 21:30 pm (Brasília time) with full coverage of the SUPER FIGHTS, with narration of the fights in real time, combat reports and post-event interviews.
