The Brazilian Alex Cowboy shone at UFC Portland, an event held in the early hours of this Sunday (02), in the USA. In a brilliant performance, the athlete from Três Rios beat the favorite Will Brooks, former Bellator champion, halted his rival's rise and established himself as one of the main athletes in the lightweight division.

Cowboy withstood his rival's takedown attempts, worked well in the clinch and managed a technical knockout after several punches to his rival's head on the ground. After the triumph, Alex and Brooks were still involved in a little confusion. The Rio de Janeiro native returned a provocation he had suffered at the weigh-in and the North American threw his mouthguard at the Brazilian. The atmosphere heated up and the central referee had to intervene.
