The Brazilian Amanda nunes, UFC bantamweight champion, was honored last Saturday (17), in an award ceremony given by the organization Equality California, which promotes the fight for the social rights of the LGBT community. Amanda, the first Ultimate champion to come out as homosexual, was elected the owner of the Visibility position, as the Brazilian supports and fights for the rights of the cause.
“When people discover how strong and powerful love is, then it will be a better world. I want to see this one day. I will do everything I can to support this community with a positive presence, sharing my love and showing everyone that I am happy. My dream has come true, and I want to share it with everyone, and help many people to be themselves. I will do everything I can to make the world a better place”, said the Brazilian, who was accompanied by her girlfriend and also a UFC fighter, Nina ansaroff.
Amanda nunes won the UFC under-61kg belt by submitting the former champion Miesha Tate in the main fight of UFC 200, an event held last July. With no date for returning to the octagon, it is speculated that the star Ronda Rousey could be Bahia's next opponent.
