Even with a quick and dominant victory at UFC 201, last Saturday (30), Wilson reis should in fact be left without the long-awaited chance for the belt. The Brazilian considered Ultimate's decision to give the opportunity to the winner of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter 24, at the end of the year, unfair.

Originally, Reis would fight for the title at UFC 201. However, the division champion, Demetrious Johnson, was injured and left out of the fight. As it had already been announced that the winner of TUF 24 would fight for the title in December, Reis ended up being removed from the title once and for all. title-shot.

TUF 24 will feature several champion fighters from smaller organizations from across the planet. Among the members of the program are some former UFC fighters. Precisely for this reason, Wilson considered the decision unfair. “It's not fair to the guys who are in the top 15. When we look at the TUF roster, the majority are guys who didn't do well in the UFC and ended up being fired. That doesn’t make any sense to me,” he said, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Reis considers that, by merit, he should be next in line. “I feel like I’m the next challenger for the belt. I didn't want to prove anything, but I had no option and I had to accept the fight. I feel like I deserve the chance to fight for the belt. I signed a contract for this, I trained for this, so I’m here,” he declared.

At UFC 201, Reis faced Hector Sandoval, who was making his debut for the organization. The Brazilian achieved a quick victory and achieved the record for the shortest submission in the entire history of the UFC flyweight division.
