“I think I lost the fight before the fight. I wasn't the Thomas I normally am, aggressive, attentive. I came in strange, different. Cody said he was going to do it and he did it. He came in aggressively, said he was going to knock me out in the first round, I joined his game and met his hand. Congratulations, he managed to execute his strategy, but I was strange. I trained very well, I was very prepared, but I think something happened on the psychological side. I crashed. I couldn’t release my game”, analyzed the fighter, in an interview on the “Combate” channel website.

As a result, Thomas suffered his first defeat in his fifth UFC fight. Garbrandt had his four victories (three of which were knockouts) in the biggest MMA organization on the planet.
