The fifth son of King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the prince – or sheikh – of Bahrain Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa made his professional MMA debut. To help him with his training, Khalid bin Hamad had the help of none other than the former UFC champion Frankie Edgar.

On social media, Edgar posted an image of himself alongside the sheikh and wished his friend good luck in his first fight. “Good luck to Khaled Hamad, our leader at KHK MMA, in his first time in cage. I know you've been putting a lot of effort into your preparation for this fight. I can’t wait to see you in action!” Frankie wrote.

Edgar's help seems to have had an effect and Khalid Hamad began his career in professional MMA with a technical knockout over Aditya PS after a left cross. The event, held in India, was closed to the public.
