After winning Ronaldo Jacare at UFC 194, in December last year, Romero was caught with the substance Ibutamoren, derived from growth hormone, prohibited under anti-doping regulations. The Cuban immediately received a two-year suspension, USADA standard for fighters caught using substances of this type.
However, the “Soldier of God” and his team protested and claimed that the fighter was innocent. Thus, tests were carried out on the supplementation used by Romero and Ibutamoren was found, although the substance was not listed on the product label.
This way, Romero will be free to fight at the beginning of the second half. The result of the fight with Jacaré will not change, as the fateful exam was carried out days after the UFC 194 fight.
