With only one fight in Ultimate, the lightweight from Nova União Felipe Olivieri It may take a while for him to be seen in the Octagon again. This is because the athlete was caught in an anti-doping test carried out by USADA (North American Anti-Doping Agency), the organization's partner in carrying out tests for illegal substances.

The test in which Olivieri was caught was carried out outside the competition period. According to USADA, the test carried out on the Brazilian after his defeat to Tony Martin at UFC Fight Night New Jersey gave a negative result. However, the sample collected in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and analyzed by a laboratory accredited by WADA (Global Anti-Doping Agency) gave a positive result. The substance found, however, was not disclosed by the entity.

“The UFC was notified that USADA (American Anti-Doping Agency) informed the athlete Felipe Olivieri that he had committed a violation of the doping control policy during an examination carried out during the period in which he was out of competition. Although the sample collected after his fight against Tony Martin at UFC: Johnson x Bader, on January 30, 2016, tested negative for banned substances, a sample collected in Brazil at the beginning of that month, and analyzed by a laboratory accredited by WADA in Rio de Janeiro, was diagnosed as containing a prohibited substance”, said the UFC, in an official statement.

Felipe Olivieri has a professional record of 14 wins, five losses and one fight without result.
