Brazilian fans will not have good memories of UFC Fight Night Pittsburgh, an event held in the early hours of this Monday (22), in the United States. With five representatives on the show, the country left the Octagon without any victories. In the main fight of the night, the North American Cowboy, Donald Cerrone, beat the 'Brazilian Cowboy' Alex Oliveira with a submission in the first round.

Still on the main card, Roan Jucão and Augusto Tanquinho were knocked out by Derek Brunson e cody garbrandt, respectively. In the preliminary program, Daniel sarafian and Leonardo Leleco they also left the octagon without victory.
Cerrone beats Alex Cowboy
The Cowboy doesn't run away from the fight. With this motto, the Brazilian Alex Cowboy accepted the call to face Donald Cerrone with 17 days of preparation to replace Tim means, who was caught in an anti-doping test and was unable to perform. But even with little time for training, the athlete from Rio de Janeiro started the contest well.
With a smaller wingspan, Alex closed the distance and hit the American well, combining punches and kicks. But, Cerrone showed why he challenged for the lightweight belt at the end of 2015.
At a disadvantage in the stand-up fight, the North American immediately tried to take the fight to the ground. He attacked Alex's legs, took the Brazilian down and opened the way to victory. With more skill on the ground, the North American quickly reached mount and set up the inverted triangle. Donald also turned to put even more pressure on Cowboy's neck, who was forced to give up the fight 2m23s into the contest.
Jucão slips and loses to Brunson
The imponderable was present in the fight between the Brazilian Roan Jucão and the North American Derek Brunson. The fight was still in its initial movements, with a lot of study and without any effective blows, when the Tupiniquim athlete had a bad luck.
Bruson tried to hit the Brazilian directly, who dodged and tried to respond with a counterattack. However, Jucão lost his balance and ended up falling. The American took advantage of the moment, went up and landed several punches on Roan's head. With Jucão unable to defend himself, referee Keith Peterson interrupted the dispute and declared a technical knockout.
Tanquinho loses 1st in his UFC debut
Brazilian Augusto Tanquinho had a difficult mission. Called up with just over a week to go before the fight, the jiu-jitsu black belt agreed to face cody garbrandt, replacing the compatriot John Lineker (who left the fight due to dengue fever). And in the duel of the undefeated, the North American came out on top.
Favorite for the fight, Garbrandt did what was expected of him. He kept the fight at medium distance and used his speed to strike Tanquinho, without giving the Brazilian a chance to take him down and work on his jiu-jitsu. In turn, Augusto tried to respond to the North American's boxing attacks, but with open and ineffective blows, the attacks usually went unnoticed.
In the final minute of the first round, Garbrandt started the attack for victory. The North American landed a series of straight shots that led to the Brazilian being knocked down. Referee Mário Yamasaki got involved and, despite not ending the dispute, remained between the fighters. Cody went behind the mediator and landed two more punches on Tanquinho's head. Yamasaki finally acted and separated the two, declaring the technical knockout.
