After winning the UFC middleweight belt in December last year, beating Chris Weidman, Luke Rockhold said he was interested in having a rematch against Vitor belfort, the only athlete to beat him in the Octagon. Now, however, the title holder in the 84 kg category also seems willing to face another Brazilian: Anderson Silva.

"I think that Anderson Silva you have to prove yourself. He finally has a fight coming up. So we'll see. I always wanted to fight the guy. It would be an honor to beat him up. I think Weidman had his chance, he beat him twice and ended up proving himself. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to give Weidman another beating”, said the champion, in an interview with the North American channel “FOX Sports”.

Since he believes he will face Weidman next, Rockhold took the opportunity to say that he will beat his rival in an even more devastating way. “These guys think they have a chance with me and I go there and improve with each fight, making them not even have an opportunity. That's what I want every time I fight, I want guys to not even think about getting in there with me. I didn't even have my best performance last time (against Weidman), I'm going to make people afraid of me”, he assured.

At 31, Luke Rockhold has a professional record of 15 wins and two losses. With the triumph over Weidman and the middleweight title, Rockhold became the first male athlete in history to win linear titles in the now-defunct Strikeforce and UFC.
