Internet users were taken by surprise by a message on Twitter from a sponsor that indicated that Georges St Pierre, former UFC welterweight champion, would be leaving inactivity to return to fighting. However, shortly after, the post was deleted, which left followers intrigued.

The sporting goods manufacturer Under Armour, the Canadian's official sponsor, published a message on social media that said that GSP “came out of retirement, returned to the octagon and would tell us how he managed to do it”. Fans instantly went into an uproar, but shortly after, the post was deleted.
