The first defense of the belt Rafael dos Anjos As UFC lightweight champion it couldn't be better for the Brazilian. The Niteroi man ran over Donald Cerrone in just over a minute to remain at the top of the 70 kg category.
Dos Anjos, who had already beaten Cerrone in 2013, showed that he actually improves fight after fight. Even facing an opponent known for his dangerous striking, the Brazilian went all out against his challenger. First, he landed a sharp kick to the North American's body, which he visibly felt. Then, he started to define the fight, which happened 66 seconds into the action.
Thus, Brazil ends 2015 with two belts. In addition to Dos Anjos, the country also has Fabricio Werdum at the top of the heavyweight division.
